WHAT ARE THE  BENEFITS OF STAGE AND WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT THAN OTHER THEATER  EXPERIENCES?
The main mission of STAGE is to use the medium of theater (and the arts) to teach about God and the message of love. It is based on the Call to Artists by John Paul II. Our theater team of professional adults, work with this philosophy in order to give the students a full experience of learning about theater, dance, and music, while having the fun of expressing it to others. It gives them an opportunity to hone their art, develop confidence, experience their faith in a lively and productive way, and learn about teamwork in a positive environment that focuses on Godly virtues.

S.T.A.G.E. makes every effort to produce a high quality show  with superb music and choreography, great costumes, and colorful sets with creative lighting and sound. We pride ourselves on thinking outside the theater box at times, to give the audience a fresh taste of live performance, especially  with kids! With over fifteen years under our belt, the STAGE team is committed  to providing each student with one on one time to learn their part, along with  many group activities to give them a fun, social experience throughout the four  weeks, all in the Spirit of S.T.A.G.E.!   Come join the fun this summer and be a part of S.T.A.G.E.!

FAQ
How should I prepare for my audition?

In order to be considered, students should be well prepared for their auditions.  We will have students present a monologue, sing a portion of a song, and read from the script.  See the buttons on the left of this to download the necessary materials.

Students will also learn a choreography piece and will audition in a group format prior to callbacks.   See this video with audition materials on left.

It is recommended students present themselves first (Hello, my name is ----- and I will be presenting....). It is also highly recommended they have their materials memorized and that they feel confident in their presentation.  This means preparing several days in advance and not just prior to their audition.

When are rehearsals?
Tentative Schedule GBF:

Can I miss any rehearsals?
Like any production, STAGE can only produce a quality show if we have commitment and time invested from our performers. You will be allowed to miss a minimal amount of rehearsals due to work or activities, however, all conflicts should be listed on your audition form for our consideration.  Once we are in the final two weeks of tech and dress rehearsals, participation is mandatory.

What is Flanagan's Boys about?
Based on the true story of Father Edward Flanagan and his founding of Boys Town.

Intertwined with music and dance, his story is told through his own eyes, with the influence of his upbringing in Ireland. Several characters emerge to help tell the story including a lawyer and supportive friend;  a Newspaper reporter; a desperate mother who leaves her boys in Father's care; and several homeless boys off the streets of Omaha.
